JOB TITLE: Technology Support Technician REPORTS TO: Director of Technology/Assistant to the Director of Technology DEPARTMENT: Technology QUALIFICATIONS: • Associate’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience. • Minimum of 2 years experience supporting computer hardware and software in a production environment. • Previous experience working in educational institutions is strongly preferred. • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and reliable transportation. • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with school administrators, teachers, support staff, and students. • Physical ability to lift and move technology equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs). • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Google IT Support Certificate (preferred) • Familiarity with Microsoft, Apple, and Chrome OS ecosystems (preferred) • Experience with ticketing systems and inventory management platforms (preferred) • Knowledge of basic networking concepts and troubleshooting (preferred) JOB PURPOSE: The Technology Support Technician is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support across the district’s technology infrastructure.
This includes troubleshooting, maintenance, and deployment of hardware, software, and network systems in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills, be self-motivated, and capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support for hardware, software, and peripheral devices across all district buildings. • Install, configure, and maintain district-owned devices, including desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, interactive boards, and classroom technology. • Respond promptly to help desk tickets and provide timely and professional resolutions. • Assist with the deployment and maintenance of educational technology tools and platforms (e. g.
, Google Workspace, SIS, LMS). • Support wired and wireless network connectivity issues and escalate as appropriate. • Maintain accurate documentation of assets, repairs, and service requests. • Collaborate with the Assistant to the Director/ Director of Technology on special projects, initiatives, and district technology plans. • Provide technical support and training to faculty, staff, and students as needed. • Assist with maintaining inventory of all technology-related equipment and supplies. • Travel between district buildings as required. • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Director/Assistant to the Director of Technology may assign.
