English Editor Belgrade

We are looking for meticulous and dedicated individuals with a strong grasp of the English language and the varied nuances of academic writing to support scholars in publishing their research. English Editors support academic research by editing the language of peer-reviewed papers to publication standards. Successful applicants undergo a probation period in which in-house training is provided by an experienced editor, after which there are opportunities to diversify the role and gain expertise in new areas. Please note that this is a full-time position based in Belgrade, Serbia.

Tasks & ResponsibilitiesEdit scholarly articles spanning a wide array of subject matter submitted to MDPI’s journal to a publication-ready standardApply knowledge of the English language and the context of the manuscript to make the English clear, consistent, and grammatically correct, communicating the author’s message without changing their voice unnecessarilyEnsure manuscripts align with MDPI’s house rulesMeet tight deadlines and hit targets with a high degree of consistencyTake on additional roles, such as training colleagues within and outside of the department and editing corporate materialRequirementsEssential criteria:

A bachelor’s degree in any subjectExpert knowledge of the English languageExperience in editing or translatingExcellent time management and organisation skillsHigh attention to detailAbility to work remotely both independently and as part of an international teamDesirable skills and experience: Professional experience in academic research or editingA master’s, PhD, or equivalent qualificationFamiliarity with LaTeXExperience working in an office environment.
