We have multiple opportunities for Mechanical Assemblers at our best-in-class Melbourne factory in Boronia. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are looking to restart their career as mechanical assemblers or step up their career in the mechanical field.About The RoleThis role is responsible to assemble mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line under TNA specifications, following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications.Key ResponsibilitiesFabricates, assembles, and builds TNA products according to work orders, diagrams, and templates using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery.Fits, aligns, and joins components using fixtures and portable tools such as grinders, drills, wrenches, and riveters, including bolting, screwing, and riveting parts together.Operates production line equipment and machines of varying complexity, including shears, cutoff saws, brakes, punch presses, form rolls, and drill presses to cut and shape components to required dimensions.Mounts and connects auxiliary equipment—mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, or hydraulic—and cuts and fits pipe and tubing as needed.Removes small quantities of metal and cleans parts using hand files or grinders to ensure close fit and proper assembly.Drills, taps, or reams holes using drill presses or portable drills, and may operate punch presses or riveting machines to assist with assembly operations.Installs moving parts such as shafts, levers, or bearings, tests for free movement, and may align and mesh gears in gearboxes.Interprets engineering drawings and schematics to assemble test equipment, reviews designs and plans under the direction of Mechanical Engineers, and ensures finished work meets specifications, regulations, and customer requirements.Supports the Assembly department by tracking stock levels for parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, and consults with the quality department to report any quality issues.Conducts mechanical tests on machines and components, participates in competency development activities, and performs welding of frames and assembly of mechanical parts.Qualification and experienceTrade qualifications in Mechanical Assembly or Fitter1-2 years’ mechanical assembly experienceWhy work with us?Egalitarian company structure which e.g. (empowers employees and nurtures leaders)Professional and career development benefits and education investmentBirthday leave.Volunteering opportunities with the Nadia and Alf Taylor FoundationRecognition program linked to health and lifestyle benefits.Opportunity to develop new skills and broaden your expertise through hands-on experience in a major transition.A company that truly values diversity If you are excited about being part of a high-impact team and want to help shape the future of our manufacturing operations, then apply now.Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
