Mechanical Design Engineer

Purpose Of PositionJFC Group are offering the chance to join our Evolution R&D division and be part of a multi-disciplinary project team. This is an exciting role within a high growth industry where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills by joining a dynamic design team developing High-Tech products for the agricultural sector. The position requires a strong candidate who can demonstrate initiative, innovation, and drive to succeed within a fast-paced environment. This position will be based in our Headquarters in Tuam, Co Galway.Key Duties And ResponsibilitiesWork on new product development within the Evolution R&D teamBuild prototypes, conduct laboratory and field testingCreate CAD models and detailed drawings for manufacturePrepare detailed reports on results of testingWork closely with electronics / software disciplines on control system integrationDevelop concepts through all stages of the mechanical design processConduct and participate in technical design reviewsManage development schedules to project timelinesDocument designs and specifications based on the ISO 9001 QMSAny other duties as specified by Engineering Team LeadDesired Skills And ExperienceBachelor or Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical3+ years of relevant industrial experience within a design environmentExcellent 3D CAD Skills with CREO, Solidworks or similarGood understanding of design for manufacture is essentialExperience in DFMEA’s and risk management techniques a key advantageStrong teamwork skills with a results-oriented commitment.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience in Root cause analysisProject management experience desirableExperience in a high-volume manufacturing environment advantageousFull Driving LicenceDisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature of the work and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
