Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical systems, 3D modeling, and analysis. The candidate will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical components and assemblies, contributing to the development of innovative and high-performance products. This role demands high level of proficiency in various CAD tools, a solid understanding of materials, mechanisms and manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities:Design, model, and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools.Perform simulation to validate the performance and robustness of the design, not limited to structural, thermal and vibrational analysis.Coordinate with vendors, machinists, and fabricators for manufacturing and prototyping.Lead prototype development, assembly, and testing, ensuring quick design iteration cycles.Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including 3D models, 2D drafts, and assembly instructions.Select and validate appropriate materials and manufacturing methods.Collaborate cross-functionally with electronics and software teams to integrate complete mechatronic systems.Key Requirements:1–3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, prototyping, and simulation.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechatronics/Automobile EngineeringExperience in a startup or R&D environment with multi-role responsibilities - from concept to prototype validation.Technical Skills:Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and Fusion 360.Proficiency in FEA / simulation tools like ANSYS, COMSOL, or LS-Dyna for structural and thermal analysis.Solid understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and mechanical calculations.Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and design validation for (3-5 axis) CNC, sheet metal, and fabrication processes.Practical understanding of mechanical assembly, alignment, and field testing.Strong problem-solving ability for real-time design challenges amidst constrains.Additional good to have skills [Any]:Knowledge of Python/MATLAB for simple automation or data analysis.Hands-on experience with prototype building. (e.g., FDM and STL 3D printers, laser cutters)Experience in electronics packaging and sensor/mechatronic system integration.Familiarity with cost optimization and design improvement strategies.
