Mechanical Designer – Mining & Minerals ProjectsLocation: Burlington, ONEmployment Type: Full-time About the RoleWe are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer on behalf of our client with strong experience in the mining and minerals processing industry to join their growing team in Burlington, Ontario. This position plays a key role in developing detailed designs and layouts for complex mineral processing and materials handling systems, supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through construction.The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineers and other design professionals to deliver efficient, high-quality designs that meet client and project requirements, while upholding industry standards and internal quality expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare mechanical layouts and detailed design drawings in accordance with project specifications and standards.Coordinate with engineers, drafters, and project team members to ensure the timely delivery of accurate design documentation.Review and check mechanical drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with established design standards.Resolve design and scheduling challenges by maintaining clear communication with the project lead and other team members.Maintain consistent drafting and design standards across all assigned projects.Ensure compliance with all applicable quality assurance, health, safety, and environmental requirements.About YouAdvanced diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical and materials handling design drafting, ideally within the mining or mineral processing sectors.Strong background in the design and layout of crushing, grinding, materials handling, flotation, slurry systems, pumping, agitation, and classification equipment.Experience delivering mechanical designs within large-scale EPC/EPCM or multidisciplinary project environments.Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar tools.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and project teams.Proven ability to organize work, manage design tasks, and maintain quality across concurrent projects.Experience in team coordination or mentorship is an asset.What We OfferCareer Growth: Ongoing opportunities for professional development through technical training, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing.Comprehensive Benefits: Competitive compensation and wellness programs supporting your physical, mental, and financial well-being.Collaborative Culture: Work alongside experienced industry professionals in an environment that values innovation, accountability, and mutual respect.
