Akkodis is recruiting for a Power Electronics Mechanical Design Engineer for a manufacturer in the Carson, CA area.This is an onsite contract position with a pay rate of $40 an hour to $50 an hour depending on education, experience and location.About The RoleExperience should be around power electronics, Sr Level 6-8 years of experience will be ideal - they can train on the manufacturing side but the understanding of electronics is a must.SkillsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Experience: 6-8 years in aerospaceProficiency in CAD tools and mechanical analysis.Knowledge of industry standards and certification processes.Strong problem-solving and communication skillResponsibilitiesDesign & Development: Work on electromechanical solutions for aerospace applications, including pilot control, actuation systems, and cockpit solutions.Product Lifecycle: Engage in all phases—from requirements capture and detailed design to manufacturing and field support.Technical TasksInterpret and create engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5.Perform mechanical analysis (kinematics, tolerance stack-ups, strength, environmental impacts).Conduct FMEA and failure mode analysis; recommend design improvements.Compliance & ReviewsEnsure designs meet customer specifications and regulatory standards.Participate in design reviews and manufacturing readiness assessments.CollaborationWork with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, testing, suppliers, customers).Support change control boards and certification processes.Continuous ImprovementEvaluate design changes for cost, schedule, and technical impact.Drive efficiency and innovation in product developmentIf interested forward resume to tina.johnsonkelley@akkodisgroup.com or click APPLY NOWPay Details: $40.00 to $50.00 per hourBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
