About the roleYou will be supporting the design and development of cutting-edge robotic dredging systems that operate in challenging environments, while also leading the ongoing improvement and optimisation of existing equipment. This includes the "bread and butter" engineering: designing and detailing components, interfaces, mounts, frames, skids, guards, tooling and other support equipment around the robotics, ensuring solutions are robust, buildable, safe, and fit for purpose.This is a great opportunity if you're ready to step out of a large, layered team and into a role where you can own your work end-to-end. You'll operate with real autonomy within a close-knit engineering team of four, all hands-on, motivated, and focused on delivering practical results and continuous improvement.What you'll be doingUtilise SolidWorks to develop designs from concept through to manufacture, including creating detailed manufacturing drawings.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical components with electrical and software systemsConduct testing and troubleshoot issues to ensure the reliability and performance of our productsAnalyse data, identify areas for improvement, and implement design enhancementsContribute to the development of new products and solutions that address the evolving needs of our clientsEnsure all work adheres to relevant safety, quality, and environmental standardsWhat we're looking forDegree in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product developmentStrong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processesProficiency in CAD software and experience with 3D modelling and simulationFamiliarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systemsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailCollaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a teamWhat we offerAt Dredge Robotics, we are committed to providing our employees with a rewarding and supportive work environment.
