Mechanical Engineer I

General Job DescriptionThe position offers the opportunity to be a Mechanical Engineer working on the development of new products in the electric vehicle space. The position requires the passion for learning about vehicle systems, supplier interactions, design and release of vehicle systems, and participate in projects in accordance with engineering excellence.Primary Duties And ResponsibilitesSupport the design and release of vehicle components and subsystems for new product development projects.Develop and maintain a vehicle and component specifications and qualification plans.Learn and contribute to requirements, risk analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, specifications, engineering change notices.Employ project management methodologies that ensure a predictable outcome for department goals and responsibilities.Remove roadblocks and accelerate implementation of projects.Support the development of technology roadmaps and strategies Assist in developing test acceptance criteria using reliability and confidence in designs.Other Duties And ResponsibilitiesWork with designers, lab technicians and other team members. Understand regulatory standards that affect your product. Achieve scheduled milestones for assigned projects. Effectively self-manage small projectsProblem solving (9-step, 8D, etc.). Participate in customer calls/visits.EducationQUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOBBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is requiredKnowledge in the following areas is beneficial, but not a necessity:Electric and ICE powertrainsRotating equipment design and analysisChassis system design – Suspension, brakes, steeringExperience1+ years’ experience is recommended.KEY COMPETENCIESContinuously raise your level of leadership, authority, and influence.Embrace the empowerment you have as a key member of an exciting product growth team.Strong passion to learn and grow with inherent curiosity.
