Your Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Location: Brisbane, QLD, AUOur Department: Trimble Field Systems - Civil ConstructionAre you excited about a role where you can design the integration of technology products onto construction machines, working as part of an international design team?What You Will DoAs a Mechanical Engineer with Trimble Field Systems, you will be supporting our engineering teams in the Civil Construction space, enabling Trimble Earthworks, and other CCFS products, to work on construction machines found locally in the Australian region. You will work collaboratively with other local support and sales teams in QLD, helping define the needs of the region. Travel will be a key requirement of this role, between 25% and 50% of your time.This Will InvolveDocumentation of mechanical systems in the form of solid models, layouts, detail drawings, and bill of materialsProduce technical documentation and detailed assembly instructionsPerform design verification and mechanical qualification testingOptimize mechanical structures through FEA simulationComplete production release of new product design for product introductionParticipate in corrective action plans for mechanical systemsProvide technical support and consultation as requiredResearch and analyze data such as design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility of design or applicationExecution and documentation of on-machine testsTroubleshooting complex problems on various controls systems on machinesConducting machine set-ups and tear-downs for a variety of events such as product proof of concept/prototype tests and evaluations, Plus lots more!What Skills & Experience You Should BringAs well as possessing excellent attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication, a strong commitment to quality, persistence, inquisitiveness, and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as a proven team player, you should be able to bring the following:Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related fieldDemonstrable professional experience as a mechanical engineer relevant to your level3D CAD modeling package experience is required. ProEngineer / Creo experience preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with a global teamExperience in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and Google Workspace apps. Reasonable fitness and manual dexterity to work in a machine test environmentAbility to self learn and work autonomouslyKnowledge of CAN, Ethernet, Wifi, and Serial communication protocolsGood to have:Experience in sheet metal and cable assembly designExperience with hydraulic systemsExperience in operating heavy construction machinesA basic understanding of control and position system theory of operationConstruction White Card or equivalent.Information About Your LocationIn this role, you can either work remotely from home in the Brisbane area, or from our Trimble Brisbane office, where several other people are based.
