You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, process engineers, and project managers, to design and develop mechanical systems that align with our mission to revolutionize the housing industry. Let’s talk.What You Will Do In The RoleDesign and develop mechanical systems for Vessel's prefabricated housing products, utilizing advanced 3D modeling (Solidworks), 2D sketching tools, and design validation from concept through to documentationCollaborate with architects, construction teams, process engineers, and other cross-functional teams to align designs with project requirementsApply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency of productsValidate designs through prototyping at various stages and ensure concept integrityResearch and recommend materials, manufacturing processes, and energy-efficient solutions to improve product designLead mechanical design projects, managing timelines and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure on-time deliveryEnsure all designs comply with sustainability standards, industry regulations, and building codesPresent design concepts and progress to leadership and project stakeholders, providing technical insights and recommendationsExperience And Qualifications3+ years of experience in mechanical design, product design, or product developmentProficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, sheetmetal, large assembly management, and 2D detailingExperience with DFM/DFA principles and an understanding of manufacturing processes and materialsKnowledge of sustainable design principles and modern building systems is a plusExcellent problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracyStrong communication skills for presenting design concepts and collaborating across teamsProject management experience and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneouslyWhy Join Vessel?At Vessel Technologies, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions that improve lives and communities seeking modern, sustainable, and affordable housing.
