Mechanical Engineer VIE Program

We are looking for Mechanical Engineers to join our team in Tampere through the VIE program.The VIE program is a French government–supported international assignment scheme that enables young professionals from France or the EEA to work abroad for 6–24 months while gaining valuable industry experience.As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will contribute to machine and equipment delivery projects, working on individual components or larger assemblies. You will collaborate closely with ALTEN Finland’s design teams and participate in the development of high-quality engineering solutions.Depending on your interests and background, your tasks may include:Designing mobile work machineryPlant engineering (maintenance platforms, layouts, piping, process equipment, etc.)Engineering lifting accessories and conveyor systemsThe following qualifications will help you succeed in this role:A relevant engineering degree (Master’s in Mechanical Engineering) and professional design experienceProficiency in CAD tools such as NX, SolidWorks, Vertex G4, Inventor, or CatiaStrong teamwork and communication skillsA proactive, independent working styleWillingness to work in an international environment and adapt to new settingsVIE Program Requirements:Age 18–28 (assignment must begin before your 29th birthday)French or EEA nationality (excluding Finnish nationals for this role)Registered on the VIE portal before age 28No previous VIE assignmentCompliant with national service obligations (for French citizens)A clean criminal record, as required for all VIE assignmentsFor more information on VIE program eligibility, see the official guidelines:https://www.service-public.gouv.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F10040?lang=enWe offer a versatile and engaging role where you can develop according to your strengths and interests.
