This is full end-to-end mechanical assembly, not simple bolt-on work - you will be involved in the complete equipment build process.Day-to-day responsibilities include:Full mechanical assembly of bespoke machines from the ground upPrecision mechanical fitting, fine adjustments, correct clearances, and lubricationWorking with shafts, bearings, gears, linkages, pneumatics, and other precision componentsUsing hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring tools (micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges)Reading and interpreting detailed mechanical and engineering drawingsFinal inspection, testing, and verification during the machinery build processWhat You’ll Bring:Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Assembler, Mechanical Assembly Fitter, Assembly Fitter or Assembly Engineer within a machinery build or engineering environmentStrong understanding of mechanical principles, tolerances, and machine-build standardsAbility to read and interpret detailed engineering drawingsA passion for building high-quality machinery and equipmentWhat’s on Offer:4-Day Week (Mon–Thu, 37 hours)£38,000 + paid overtime + additional allowancesStable and secure role with a well-established engineering manufacturerSupportive, close-knit team with genuine pride in machinery build qualityOpportunities to progress as the company continues to invest and expandApply Now for a Mechanical Fitter role in Leeds.
