PPI Quality & Engineering is a specialist provider of inspection, quality assurance, and engineering support for complex fabrication and industrial projects. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Inspector to support Secondary Steel manufacturing for one of our major European clients.This assignment will run from January 2026 to July 2026 and may extend to fabrication sites in Poland and/or The Netherlands depending on project progression. Our inspectors work at the forefront of major infrastructure and renewable energy projects, ensuring that industry-leading standards are achieved and maintained.Role Overview:Position: Mechanical InspectorBase Location: Hoboken, BelgiumContract Duration: January 2026 - July 2026Travel: Required to additional fabrication sites (as needed)Work Pattern: Full-time, 5 days/week (hours may vary based on activity)Key responsibilities:Quality Control & SurveillancePerform quality oversight of Secondary Steel fabrication activities.Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and Employer’s Requirements.Monitor workmanship daily and ensure the correct implementation of manufacturing processes.Lead routine QC tasks: inspection points, notifications, deviation management, and close-out.Review inspection documentation and ensure correct upload to project EDMS.Documentation & Reporting:Record progress, inspections, and NCRs using the designated Quality Inspection App.Provide clear and timely reporting including weekly progress updates.Support the review of ITPs, Quality Plans, technical procedures, and related documentation.Communication & CoordinationLiaise effectively with contractors and site personnel across fabrication sites.Attend weekly and monthly quality meetings.Escalate issues to the Quality Engineer and collaborate with Engineering teams on technical queries and concession close-outs.HSE Compliance:Work in accordance with all project HSE systems and procedures.Conduct point-of-work risk assessments and participate in HSE walks.React to and report observed unsafe conditions or non-conformances.Required Competencies & Qualifications:Senior Weld Inspector CSWIP 3.2PCN Level 2 in DP, VT, MT, UT, RT (or previously held)5+ years experience in heavy steel fabrication inspectionProven knowledge of: ISO 3834 / EN 1090 / ISO 14732 / DNV-OS-C401Strong understanding of ITPs, manufacturing documentation, and drawing reviewExperience in offshore fabrication (offshore wind preferred)LIMOSA HSE qualificationGWO Basic Safety TrainingWorking at HeightFirst Aid at WorkManual HandlingFire AwarenessVCA Basic CertificateProfessional communication skills (English essential; local language beneficial)Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityPreferable experience in coating processesFull driving licenseTo express interest, please submit, applying to this add or sending your CV to ppijobs@ppiquality.com, mentioning at the title the desired role.
