You will work closely with product development and engineering teams to understand product requirements and identify suppliers who can meet the required technical specifications, manufacturing capabilities, quality standards, and cost expectations.A key part of this role involves sourcing and managing suppliers in China, including identifying manufacturers through platforms such as Alibaba, Made-in-China, and 1688, evaluating their capabilities, negotiating commercial terms, and ensuring suppliers meet execution timelines.This Role Is Likely a Great Fit If You✔ Have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline✔ Have experience working with manufacturers or suppliers in China✔ Have sourced suppliers through platforms such as Alibaba, Made-in-China, 1688, or similar sourcing channels✔ Can understand technical drawings, product specifications, and manufacturing processes✔ Are comfortable evaluating suppliers based on technical capability, certifications, and production capacity✔ Have strong commercial judgment and negotiation skills when working with suppliers✔ Maintain high attention to detail when reviewing supplier documentation and agreements✔ Take ownership and accountability for supplier sourcing and procurement outcomes✔ Communicate clearly with China-based suppliers and global teams⚠️ Candidates with only traditional purchasing, logistics, or warehouse supply chain experience without engineering or manufacturing exposure will not be considered.What You'll DoHands-on experience sourcing suppliers from platforms such as Alibaba, Made-in-China, and 1688 is expected for this role.Work closely with Product Development and Engineering teams to understand product concepts, technical requirements, specifications, drawings, and quality expectationsClarify technical details and ensure sourcing requirements are well defined before engaging suppliersInterpret technical drawings, product specifications, and manufacturing requirements when evaluating suppliersIdentify, evaluate, onboard, and manage suppliers across manufacturing, assembly, and quality control partners, with a strong focus on China-based manufacturersSource suppliers through platforms such as Alibaba, Made-in-China, 1688, and other sourcing networks based on technical fit, capability, and reliabilityAssess supplier production capacity, certifications, and technical alignment with product requirementsBuild and maintain long-term supplier relationships focused on quality, reliability, and consistent performanceAct as the primary point of contact for China-based suppliers and manufacturing partnersNegotiate pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs), timelines, and commercial terms with suppliersReview supplier cost structures and support cost optimization initiativesProvide cost estimates and commercial input for new and existing productsOwn end-to-end procurement documentation, including supplier agreements, contracts, and commercial invoicesEnsure documentation accuracy and alignment with agreed commercial termsEnsure supplier commitments regarding scope, pricing, and timelines are clearly documentedEnsure supplier agreements include confidentiality, IP protection, and patent clausesCoordinate with quality control partners to address quality issues and compliance gapsIdentify and flag risks related to suppliers, quality, timelines, or documentation at an early stageAlign sourcing timelines with production schedules and product launch plansCoordinate closely with China-based suppliers to support smooth executionProactively communicate delays, risks, or changes that may impact timelinesMaintain organized supplier records and procurement documentationProvide regular updates to internal stakeholders on supplier status, risks, and sourcing progressSupport continuous improvement of procurement processes and workflowsAbout Tilco Trading LtdTilco Trading Ltd is a fast-growing international trading company focused on sourcing and distributing high-quality healthcare and wellness products across global online marketplaces.We primarily operate on Amazon (FBA) and are also present on platforms such as Walmart.
