We, in turn, make this in to over 1 million tonnes of sugar, serving customers across the UK, Ireland and increasingly growing commercially in the EU and world sugar markets.SalaryRange £53,830.66 to £53,830.66Job PurposeMechanical biased technician supporting process operations and maintenance activities across the site.Shift Based: Reporting to the Engineering Lead and working as part of a multi-skilled team on shift during Operational periods, this role will carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance as required.During gap periods, this role could also undertake basic electrical maintenance activities.Days: Reporting to the Engineering Lead, this role will carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance as required.Core AccountabilitiesWork in partnership with Shift Performance Manager, Lead Engineer and shift and day-based technicians to carry out repairs to process plantTroubleshooting and practical fault finding on plant and mechanical systemsInstallation of new plant or modifications as appropriateCarry out planned inspection routes on process plant and proactive maintenanceDuring maintenance periods undertake maintenance activities as well as testing and commissioning plant in readiness for operationsReporting of all engineering activities in the appropriate format into the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Making plant safe for maintenanceCompetent to receive and/or authorise a range of permits as requiredSkills, Knowledge & CompetenciesComprehensive technical knowledge and hands on skills gained through large scale, complex operational factory experienceUnderstanding of hazards and controls associated with a complex industrial environment and producing food and feedONC / HNC in Mechanical Engineering supported by a recognised apprenticeshipA proven track record of effective technical problem solving, fault diagnosis, maintenance and continuous improvementAbility to work as an individual and with groupsAbility to effectively balance urgent and important tasksExperience of working in a lean operating environmentExperience of working in an operational team of varying disciplines and skill levelsExcellent benefits
