ABOUT THE COMPANY:Our client is a leading regulatory authority in the financial sectorDESIGNATION :Media SpecialistPERIOD: Contract 3 YearsKEY RESPONSIBILITITESStrategize the design and operational oversight of the Media, Digital, and Publications functions of the department to ensure all communication outputs are holistic, integrated, and aligned with the Organisation’s core objectives and strategic direction.Advise internal stakeholders and senior management on all strategic media relations, public opinion, crisis response, and the implications of policy decisions on the Organisation’s reputation to proactively drive the Organisation’s communication agenda and strengthen its ability to influence and anchor public expectations.Collaborate closely with the broader Communications Department team, policy departments, and policy experts to ensure all digital and social media communications are coordinated, accurate, and reflect a single, consistent institutional voice, thereby avoiding contradictory or confusing messages.Develop and maintain the social media editorial calendar and syndication schedules to ensure all external digital communications are coordinated, accurate, and reflect a single, consistent institutional voice, thereby avoiding contradictory or confusing messages consistent with institutional guidelines.Oversee and promptly resolve potential communication issues, negative media narratives, or misinformation campaigns to safeguard the Organisation’s credibility and ensure the public's confidence by managing the strategic sentiment of communications (e.g., confidence-building versus risk-highlighting).Implement and utilise advanced digital and social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro) to continuously capture, track, and analyse key social data and metrics, including audience reach, public sentiment, and message clarity.Develop the expertise and capability of all communications staff in digital and social media management and policy articulation to foster professional growth and ensure the team is aligned with contemporary communication best practices.Provide support for wider digital communication efforts, including content for the Organisation’s website, as part of ensuring the platforms function as primary, reliable, and user-friendly hubs for all official informationQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:Degree (Bachelor’s/ Master’s) obtained from a local or a foreign university recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka OR a Professional qualification obtained from a reputed educational institute, in a relevant field such as Communications, Public Relations, Media StudiesMinimum ten (10) years of working experience in public/corporate sector in areas of communications, media management including five (05) years of experience in senior management position with in-depth knowledge of media landscape (traditional and digital), crisis management, and central banking
