Summary & Purpose Of The PositionUnder the direction of the Medical Director/Medical TA Lead, the Medical Advisor acts as the first point of contact for any medical activity related to her/his product/ area of responsibility including undertaking studies, scientific liaison, medical information and other project activities in accordance with Ipsen SOPs and International Codes of Practice. The Medical Advisor provides non-promotional, high level scientific, medical and technical support to Ipsen’s external (Health Care Professionals, Patient Organizations) and internal customers at office or field levels, he/she also provides significant cross-functional medical input including to local commercial and market access.Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies Provide medical in-field activities and brand support: Have a strong external focus Ensure execution of planned medical in-field activities aligned with the Brand strategy Identify and build relationships with National, Regional or and Local Thought Leaders (TLs) Organize Advisory Boards within the strategy and plan from the brand team with the approval and support of the Medical team and Country/Cluster teams Undertake publication planning, slide-deck development and internal training initiatives as prioritized Assist in the development, review and approval of scientific and clinical content of relevant promotional and non-promotional materials and activities Provide field-based medical support to the Company's scientific research programs as required Contribute to the design and execution of studies through setting up or supporting local studies or support of Specialty Franchise studies as appropriate, in line with Ipsen SOPs and International Guidelines to ensure successful completion of the studies and their publication. Where required, provide budget control and accountability of these programs. Gather and disseminate competitive intelligence from multiple sources Provide out of hours medical cover as required Provide technical / medical support to Local Regulatory Affairs as required Undertake other departmental tasks and provide support as requiredDevelop And Maintain Knowledge On Area Of Responsibility Be the topic expert in the assigned TA/region Support Health Care Professionals (HCPs), including TLs, in line with Ipsen strategy. Support HCPs by reactively (and proactively where appropriate) provide them with and discuss scientific and clinical data. Follow up as needed on actionable insights. Support knowledge on individual funding where needed Track and manage evolving evidence base in areas critical for the organization. Ensure this is communicated to the appropriate Ipsen personnel Set-up and maintain collaboration with the relevant Patient Organizations, in line with local Ipsen strategy Attend appropriate scientific congresses to interact with HCPs, develop knowledge in relevant therapy areas and to produce congress summaries for dissemination to HCPs as prioritized by BT Support the dissemination of product and disease area knowledge across Ipsen in accordance with business priorities Undertake regular communication of best practice and facilitation of knowledge sharing cross functionally and across geographies Assist in maintaining, improving and promoting the Medical Information and wider medical service in line with the Franchise Strategy and Ipsen SOPsProvide Scientific Information And Support Contribute to and support the clear articulation of a compelling brand strategy for her/his product/ area of responsibility across Ipsen marketing, sales and medical functions Assist in and/or lead the organization and scientific support of key external Nordic, National and Regional events e.g. satellite symposia and scientific events etc. Deliver lectures on scientific, clinical and technical topics in the designated Therapeutic Area, spontaneously requested, ensuring appropriate approval in relevant systems In close co-ordination with existing medical information resources, respond professionally and quickly to documented unsolicited requests from the field and external stakeholders for clinical information and data in relation to product / disease specific questions including, pre-launch communication, on-label or off-label use or any Ipsen’s research programsProvide Strategic Input And Medical Leadership In collaboration with the Medical TA Lead, develop the medical strategy and medical plan in the assigned TA. Align within the BT and field cross functional team regarding the medical activities as prioritized in the overall Brand Plan Be a proactive member of the affiliate medical team and contribute to aperformance-oriented, customer-focused environment through sharing of knowledge, engage in discussions, contribute to increase knowledge level of the full teamCompliance & Governance Ensure that scientific support is informed, balanced, current, and complies with the spirit and letter of EFPIA codes, National guidelines or regulatory rules and Ipsen SOPs. This includes, but is not restricted to, maintaining high professional standards of conduct, in line with Ipsen Company Standard Operating Procedures, with a duty of care to the reputation of the company. Demonstrated capacity to build strong relationships across functions and to work closely with all people across the businessKnowledge & Experience (essential)Degree in Medicine or other Master within a life science educationMinimum 2 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical Industry or biotechnology companies in Specialty Care businessKnowledge & Experience (preferred)PhD or other research experienceMaster in pharmaceutical industry/clinical trials would be a plusLanguage(s) (essential)Fluent in Swedish, Finish (an advantage)Fluent in English
