This full-time role includes day and evening shifts, with some holiday and weekend coverage. Adhere strictly to laboratory and hospital policies regarding procedures, quality control, safety, and compliance. Accurately collect, process, and analyze specimens in an efficient manner. Recognize and appropriately address critical or abnormal test results in accordance with established protocols. Troubleshoot instrumentation and methodological issues, performing minor repairs as necessary. Conduct routine quality control, preventive maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment. Manage reagent usage and maintain adequate supply inventory. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and physiological factors affecting test outcomes. Participate in test development, methodology evaluation, and equipment implementation. Independently perform High Complexity Testing as defined by regulatory standards. Assume temporary supervisory responsibilities as delegated. Facilitate the training and orientation of new employees, students, and residents. Medical Lab Technician: Associate’s degree in a laboratory science with certification (or eligible new graduate) from an accredited institution as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), OR Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science, with 6 months of clinical laboratory experience OR Equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA ’88 for individuals performing high complexity testing. Minimum 1year’s experience in a hospital laboratory preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred. Medical Lab Scientist: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of a CAHEA accredited Medical Technology program OR; Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP categorical certification OR; Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years’ experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory OR; Prefer 1 year of experience in a hospital laboratory. Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Medical Laboratory Technician MLT(ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA) certification preferred.
