Job Description

The MSL is expected to comply with all Ipsen SOPs, policies, directive, and relevant national guidelines.Achieve the communication of medical and educational objectives set for the assigned products/indications, within the framework of IPSEN’s national strategy. (Communication plan)Develop, maintain, and support professional relationships with internal and external customers (e.g., Key Thought Leaders [KTL], Health Care Professionals [HCPs], and Formulary Decision Makers).Facilitate informational, educational, and research activities for physicians and ancillary healthcare professionals regarding IPSEN’s current and pipeline therapies.Ensure that the scientific and technical needs of Medical Affairs, Clinical Development and commercial colleagues are identified and met working closely with other IPSEN personnel-Document, accurately and in a timely manner, the aforementioned activities.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant scientific information (by performing literature searches, participation in medical congresses and conferences of relevance to Ipsen’s disease and therapeutic area interests).Disseminate this knowledge as appropriate to HCPs in response to requests, in accordance with applicable laws.Proactively provide fair, balanced, and transparent medical and scientific exchange in disease area management.Current and potential sources of clinical and scientific expertise (known experts, rising stars etc.)Current and potential principal investigators, speakersInformational needs of individual KTLs/HCPsNeed for scientific information in disease area and therapy of individual KTLs/HCPsIdentification and initiation of opportunities to fulfil these.Identify and invite KTL and appropriately qualified HCP participation in Advisory BoardsIdentify opportunities to inform KTLs and HCPs in disease areas of interest to IpsenOrganize and participate in the distribution and presentation of non-promotional materials.Provide scientific and medical content for, and participate in, the preparation and delivery of presentations by KTLs and HCPs speaking on behalf of Ipsen in educational programs and at other meetings.Support internal medical review and facilitate processing of unsolicited RWE projects.RequirementsPhysician or Scientific University education ideally to post-graduate degree level -e.g., MSc, PhD, MD, PharmDMedical Practice or Research career (hospital and/or hospital-related, university research, pharmaceutical industry research, or medical affairs)Ideally, 6 – 12 months of experience and a successful track record as an MSL or medical department professional in a previous companyWorking in a matrix organization and interfacing with the lead/management team.Ability to work with high workload and time pressure.Strong communication skillsComputer literacy skillsBroad pharmaceutical business knowledgeProven experience and leadership within Quality operations of multi-national biopharmaceutical settings;Fluent in Spanish and English.IPSEN is an equal opportunity employer that strictly prohibits unlawful discrimination.
