Role Description/CriteriaThis is a 5 day a week position with hours 10am-2: 30pm daily. Applicants must be able to demonstrate: commitment to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in their care enthusiasm and a willingness to work collaboratively in a team-based environment to meet the needs of our students and familiesImplementing MACS & School First Aid policy, guidelines and procedures;Recording all first aid visits, keeping all students’ electronic records/documentation up to date and maintaining an accident and injury register of students and staff treated.
Providing assistance to students as per medical management plans for ongoing health conditions including, but not limited to Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Epilepsy, Diabetes and Spinal Muscular Atrophy;Developing student health support plans in consultation with the Principal, Principal’s delegate and student’s parent; Ensuring appropriate procedures and administration for any medication provided to school Ensuring all first aid kits are regularly checked and fully stocked and all medical equipment is well maintainedMaintaining the first aid room in an organised and OHS compliant mannerArranging the appropriate professional learning for staff in First Aid, CPR, Asthma, anaphylaxis or other relevant trainingConducting twice yearly staff briefings on anaphylaxis, including auto-injector verification of staff; Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation; Any other duties as directed by the PrincipalKey AttributesMaintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive mattersBuild relationships, trust and confidence with families and other external stakeholdersModel the importance of physical and mental health practices and wellbeing, watch for signs and issues in self and others, and take proactive actions to address situations that may ariseBring ethical behaviour, respect, empathy and interpersonal skills to all professional interactionsBuild positive relationships with staff, students and members of the communityContribute to a culture of high expectations, optimism, empathy, openness and trustManage work activities in an organised, timely and clear mannerEngage and collaborate with colleagues to building a positive cultureTake own initiative to seek feedback and broaden professional knowledge and practiceBehave with integrity and promote fairness, equity and inclusionShow perseverance, patience and resilience when handling challenge and changeKey Selection CriteriaCurrent Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
