REQ10597 Assistant Manager, Supply Chain (Open)Position SummaryThe Assistant Manager, Supply Chain is responsible for assisting with the management of the day to day operations for Procurement, new product sourcing and/or supplier quality management resources. This position is also responsible for all aspects of supplier management to ensure cost-effective products and services are provided to the Business Units with consistent quality and acceptable delivery levels maintained. Responsible for maintaining and achieving appropriate metrics (i. e. cost avoidance, cost savings, etc. ).
Primary ResponsiblitiesTo drive the development and implementation of supply chain management techniques to enhance supplier performance at the lowest overall cost to the business. To ensure compliance to approved negotiated contracts. To ensure negotiated contracts are implemented to maximum effect. Manage, identify, coach and develop team to ensure performance and succession requirements are met. This would include participating in performance reviews, identifying development needs, and sourcing appropriate programs through Human Resources.
To manage a small team to ensure a professional Procurement service is given to all business unitsManage the staff roster to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in line with financial year budget forecasts. To identify and implement improvements to the Procurement administration systems in order to reduce the incidences of fragmented spend and overall transaction costProvide guidance and share best practices (experiences) with junior purchasing staffImplement policies and procedures to ensure an efficient and professional operation consistent with corporate visionWork closely with supplier to optimize supplier processesLiaise and communicate with external suppliers and internal clients.

Preferably in hospitality, gaming, large restaurant chains and/or supermarket chains environments. Extensive souring experience in procurement of Food and Beverages category with global procurement experience preferred. Proven direct material procurement experience. Proven track record of sourcing technique while obtaining quality product at a fair price. Excellent business, financial and negotiating skills are required. Possess strong leadership and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Highly developed analytical thinking, understanding and application of logical or analytical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Bi-lingual in English and Cantonese is a required; a working knowledge of Mandarin is a mustStrong working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems. Good knowledge of sourcing tools and proven record of execution. EducationDegree or relevant professional qualifications in purchasing / supply management or related disciplineRecognized professional accreditation from ISM / APICS preferred.
