This major infrastructure project includes seven new stations and installation of rail and systems under a progressive design-build model.Beyond its technical scope, the ECWE project represents a significant investment in sustainable urban mobility, expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 5,800 tonnes annually and eliminate over 6.5 million vehicle trips each year when combined with the full Line 5.This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team on a complex, high-value project that supports long-term regional growth and environmental sustainability. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates and budgets for all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, tunnel ventilation, traction power, lighting, communications, and station services. The estimator will collaborate closely with engineering, design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure cost certainty and effective risk management across the project lifecycle.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Prepare detailed cost estimates for all MEP systems:Mechanical: HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, tunnel ventilation, pumping stations, and station mechanical services.Electrical: traction power, switchgear, substations, lighting, cable trays, and low-voltage systems.Plumbing/Fire Protection: water supply, drainage, pumps, sprinklers, and life safety systems.Perform quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and BIM models.Develop and maintain unit rates for piping, ductwork, electrical cabling, panels, and equipment.Collaborate with designers, engineers, and construction managers to validate constructability, sequencing, and methodology impacts on cost.Support value engineering exercises by identifying cost-saving alternatives and design optimizations.Analyze subcontractor/vendor pricing and provide bid evaluations.Support tender preparation and submission for design-build or P3 infrastructure contracts.Participate in risk and contingency analysis, particularly for MEP scope interfaces and system integration challenges.Track and update market trends in labor, materials, and MEP equipment.Provide input for project budgets, cost planning, change orders, and claims.Required Skills And CompetenciesDegree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline is preferred.7+ years of experience in estimating MEP systems, preferrably for major infrastructure projects.Strong understanding of MEP system design, codes, and standards, particularly for transportation and transit environments.Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., CostX, HCSS HeavyBid, Sage Estimating, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.Familiarity with BIM/Revit/Civil 3D for MEP take-offs is considered an asset.Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines in a collaborative environment.Strong communication and analytical skills with high attention to detail.CompetenciesExpertise in MEP estimating across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing/fire protection systems.Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing for complex projects.Vendor/subcontractor engagement and evaluation skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Proactive problem-solving and team collaboration.ACCIONA is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
