Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient MEP Project Manager to lead and execute complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) installations in high-standard, mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will be a certified engineer with proven expertise in managing the full project lifecycle, ensuring compliance, quality control, and the seamless delivery of specialized, non-negotiable MEP systems.Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Execution (Critical Focus)Manage the end-to-end execution of MEP projects in sensitive environments that demand strict quality control and zero downtime.Oversee the design review, installation, testing, and commissioning of specialized MEP systems, including: - Power distribution (UPS/Generator sets). - Specialized ventilation and air handling (AHU/Chilled Water Systems). - Fire Detection and Fire Fighting Systems (Sprinklers, Wet Risers, Alarms, etc.). - Plumbing systems (water quality, drainage, medical gas infrastructure). - Extra Low Voltage (ELV) Systems (CCTV, Access Control, Data Networking, etc.). - Integrated Building Management Systems (BMS) and control systems.Develop detailed project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for all MEP scopes of work.2. Compliance, Quality & Regulatory ManagementEnsure strict adherence to project specifications, international quality standards, and all relevant Nigerian building codes and safety regulations.Implement and enforce stringent quality control processes and procedures, with an emphasis on system cleanliness, integrity, and fault tolerance specific to demanding technical environments.Manage all project documentation for regulatory submission and project handover, ensuring full traceability and audit readiness.3. Commercial & Stakeholder LeadershipServe as the primary point of contact and technical authority for clients, consultants, and subcontractors.Manage project budgets, monitor cost control, and approve procurement of specialized MEP equipment.Oversee all contract administration, including managing variations, claims, and change orders.Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline is required.Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Project Management, with at least 3 years directly managing MEP projects in high-compliance sectors (e.g., healthcare, pharmaceuticals, industrial clean rooms, or specialized laboratory facilities).Professional Certification (Mandatory): Active registration as a 'Registered Engineer' (Engr.) with COREN and Corporate Membership with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE) is highly desirable.Technical Knowledge: Deep practical knowledge of critical MEP infrastructure, focusing on redundancy, air quality, filtration, high-quality piping, and strict hygiene standards.Industry Certification (A Strong Advantage): Certification in Project Management (PMP or PRINCE2) is a significant advantage.
