Merchandiser Fabric Sourcing

Job description:1. Supplier Management:• Build and maintain effective partnerships with fabric and material suppliers.• Monitor supplier performance, ensuring consistent quality, timely delivery, and cost competitiveness.2. Material & product sourcing:• Source fabrics and raw materials based on seasonal requirements and design briefs.• Coordinate sample development and approvals in collaboration with design and product teams.3. Costing & price analysis:• Analyze material costs, conduct comparative price evaluations, and support cost negotiations.• Work with internal teams to develop cost-effective sourcing strategies without compromising quality.4. Material technical knowledge, quality and compliance:• Apply strong knowledge of fabric construction, performance, and finishing processes.• Conduct material inspections and coordinate with QA for quality assurance and compliance checks.5. Market & trend research:• Research global textile markets to identify new materials, technologies, and innovations.• Monitor fashion and material trends to guide sourcing strategies and product development.Qualifications::• Educational Background: Degree or Diploma in Textile Technology, Fabric Science, Apparel Management, or a related field.• Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on experience in fabric sourcing, fabric technology, or textile product development.• Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of fabric types, properties, construction, and testing standards.• Testing Expertise: Strong knowledge of textile testing methods, standards (e.g., ISO), and compliance protocols.• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.• Additional Competencies: Ability to work cross-functionally with design, merchandising, and production teams.
