Our OpportunityWe're looking for a seasoned Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to join our Generation team and play a key role in executing Mercury's HSW strategy. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll be deeply embedded in our operations, working across high-risk environments and partnering with frontline leaders to embed safety excellence.

You'll be part of a rapidly evolving business, with the opportunity to make a real impact while enjoying some of the most beautiful workspaces in Aotearoa - right along the Waikato River. There is flexibility for this role to be based at one of our Generation sites or at our Tauranga, Rotorua or Hamilton offices. Key Responsibilities IncludeExecute Mercury's HSW strategy across our generation sites, ensuring safety is embedded in every decision and action. Lead critical risk management, assurance activities, and incident investigations. Provide expert, practical advice to frontline teams and contractors.

Champion our safety systems and support performance reporting. Drive engagement in safety training, cultural programmes, and continuous improvement initiatives. We Are Looking ForA doer, not just a thinker - someone who rolls up their sleeves and gets stuck in. Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar HSW advisory role, ideally in the energy or high-risk industrial sector. Strong working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, insurance activities, and internal frameworks. Confident operating in rapidly evolving environments and partnering with diverse teams.

Based in or willing to relocate to Central Waikato, with flexibility for hybrid work - though most of your time will be boots on the ground at our stunning generation sites. Mercury offers (full benefits are listed on our Career Page):
