Role OverviewWe are seeking a Metallurgical Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic team. In this role, you'll leverage your extensive expertise in metallurgy to drive innovative solutions and enhance our mechanical engineering processes, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency across all projects.ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of metallurgical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.Oversee the development and implementation of metallurgical design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, establish timelines and allocate resources effectively.Conduct comprehensive analyses of designs to optimize performance and longevity. Drive research and development initiatives to explore new designs and processing methods that align with strategic company goals.Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.Required and Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering.15+ years of experience in metallurgical engineering, with at least 10 years in a managerial role.Proven experience in materials characterization and failure analysis.Strong knowledge of metallurgical processes, including welding, heat treatment and casting.Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.Preferred:Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.Proficient in mechanical designExperience in custom heavy manufacturing.Technical Skills and Relevant TechnologiesProficiency in metallurgical software tools for simulation and analysis.Experience with materials testing methods and equipment.Basic understanding of statistical process control and quality assurance methodologies.Soft Skills and Cultural FitExceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective stakeholder engagement.A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a passion for continuous learning and development.
