With over 200 million downloads, we have achieved global success across major app platformsAs a Mid-Engineer, you will help shape the fun, educational games that make StoryToys magical. You'll take ownership of key features, write clean and efficient code, and work closely with a creative team to deliver polished, high-performance experiences that delight children around the world. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.Responsibilities:Develop entertaining, educational mobile games using the Unity engine for multiple platforms, following game development best practices. Our games are played by millions of players young and oldDevelop quality implementations that are performant, technically sound, and reusable by other developersProduce clean, efficient, and optimized codeBe part of a cross-disciplinary team that uses an Agile processCollaborate with designers and UX/UI to get thorough specs and flesh out the best way to get new ideas into the game (Work through storyboards, wireframes, feature specs etc)Contribute to estimating user stories and breaking them down into technical tasksWrite content pipeline tools and editor extensions to streamline productionWork closely with the Art team to get awesome artwork into the games while being mindful of performance and platform constraintsTest your own code extensively and work closely with the QA team to resolve bugs and hit sprint goals with a high production qualityWrite technical documentation as necessary to minimize legacy knowledgeRequirementsAt least 2 years of software development experienceMinimum of 1 year of experience with UnityMinimum of one shipped titleExcellent C# skillsExcellent debugging skillsGreat communication skills. While our focus is on product, you will also be capable of writing technical documentationSolid understanding of real-time rendering and rendering bottlenecksSolid understanding how to write low-latency and low-garbage code in C#Fluent in using Git (or Git-like system) and SCM patternsBut most of all.
