Job Description

Our Backbone & Tooling team is looking for a Software Engineer to work together on systems that keep our autonomous vehicles running.  You’ll contribute to the foundational software that makes autonomy possible - developing tools, frameworks, and integrations that connect software to our vehicles and ensure our systems perform reliably in the real world.  If you're into meaningful engineering challenges and want to work on a code that helps bring our autonomous solutions to life, we’d love to hear from you!  As a Backbone Software Engineer, you’ll get to:

👉 Drive end-to-end development of ROS-based and other back-end systems and APIs – from requirements gathering to coding, debugging, and deployment. 👉 Build internal tools and frameworks to support autonomy development, making life easier for other engineers. 👉 Test and validate your code both in software environments and on physical vehicles to ensure its quality and performance. 👉 Integrate software with the vehicle platforms. 👉 Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines, helping to streamline development and deployment workflows.  You’re a great fit if you:  ✅ Are proficient in C++ and Python and have previous work experience with end-to-end back-end development.

✅ Have a background in robotics and are familiar with ROS.  ✅ Are comfortable with Linux system configuration and administration.  ✅ Understand computer networking.  ✅ Are proficient with Docker or other containerization platforms.  ✅ Have good knowledge of CI/CD practices.  ✅ Bring an engineering mindset – you are curious, hands-on, and eager to understand how things work and why they fail.  ✅ Can plan and follow through on your tasks without constant direction and know when to take initiative.  ✅ Are a true team player, working collaboratively to solve complex problems.  ✅ Have very good English skills, both written and spoken (at least B2 level).   What we offer:

🔸The chance to see your code come to life on unmanned vehicles operating in real-life environments.  🔸A chance to work on complex, unique technical challenges and continuously develop your engineering skills.  🔸High autonomy and influence in a company positioned for significant growth. 🔸A collaborative, cross-border culture with offices in seven countries. 🔸Unique benefits like a 28-day paid sabbatical and additional leave for life’s key milestones. 🔸Extra vacation days, wellness perks, and flexible working arrangements.
