MINGO BLOX seeks an innovative full-time Robotics and STEM Educator who will play a significant role in the schools’ educational technology programming. The core responsibilities include leading and teaching our robotics and STEM program, as well as collaborating with faculty to design and coordinate transdisciplinary activities to promote high-tech learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and robotics and have a passion for making, designing, and STEAM education as well as experience working in a student-centred, collaborative, and inquiry‐based educational environment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creating lesson plans that incorporate technology, including computer software and robotics, to engage students in hands-on learning activitiesDeliver STEM-oriented instruction through project-based learning methods. Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning. Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration. Organizes, develops and coordinates special STEM events/activities. Initiates new programs that support the STEM vision. QUALIFICATIONSMust had completed the mandatory National ServiceBachelor's degree in engineering, computing, or tech-related fields. Proficient in spoken and written English. Knowledge of STEM best practices.
Experience working with children and adolescents. Experience teaching and coaching, school-aged childrenWorking knowledge of robotics is a plusAvailability to work after-school and weekend hoursGood communication and problem-solving skillsGood classroom management skills.
