Job Description

Key Responsibilities:Strategic & Managerial ResponsibilitiesDevelop medium and long-term mining plans in coordination with engineering, pit services, and production teams.Lead planning for fleet composition, equipment allocation, and productivity improvement strategies.Prepare and manage operational budgets, production forecasts, and cost-control initiatives.Evaluate heavy equipment ratios vs production targets, ensuring adequate fleet availability (PA) and optimum utilization.Lead multi-department alignment for greenfield development including infrastructure planning, pit opening, and operational readiness.Oversee compliance with HSE standards and ensure a strong safety culture across all operations.Operational & External CoordinationCoordinate daily and weekly mining progress with Superintendent Engineering and Superintendent Operations (Pit Services and MDO).Ensure mining production meets monthly and annual targets, addressing potential bottlenecks and proposing corrective actions.Maintain coordination with external partners (contractors, MDOs, suppliers, local authorities) for operational continuity and target achievement.Review and validate operational data, production reports, and fleet performance metrics.Ensure proper management of road construction, drainage, land clearing, and other mine infrastructure development.Team Leadership & Performance ManagementLead, coach, and supervise site teams to ensure productivity, discipline, and operational excellence.Evaluate team competencies and ensure continuous technical development across engineering and production functions.Foster effective communication across operational units to maintain alignment and problem-solving efficiency.Candidate Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields.Professional certifications (POM / POP / POU) are highly preferred.Minimum 8–10 years of mining operations experience, including the past 3–5 years in a managerial role.Strong track record working in greenfield mining projects (hauling road, jetty, pit opening, mine infrastructure).Demonstrated capability in fleet productivity planning, heavy equipment calculation, and operational budgeting.Experience managing large-scale mining projects with multi-disciplinary teams.Strong understanding of mining methods, mine planning, pit sequence, and production optimization.Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and operational cost control.Knowledge of heavy equipment specifications, PA/UA, fleet matching, and fuel management.Familiar with mining software and operational reporting tools.Strong coordination skills with MDOs, contractors, and external stakeholders.Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.High resilience, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility.Proactive, analytical, and highly committed to operational excellence.Adequate English skill, to understand technical terms, and daily coordinations.
