What The Role IsAs a desk head in MCCY’s Finance Division, you will play a pivotal role in partnering with key stakeholders (including our divisions, Statutory Boards and Companies Limited by Guarantee) to ensure optimal allocation of resources and budgets, aligned with the Ministry’s strategic priorities and outcomes. You will also develop, implement and review key financial policies to uphold corporate governance. What You Will Be Working On Business Partnership: Point-of-Contact in supporting and advising divisions and agencies on budgeting, resource management and financial matters. Budget Management:
Support key budgeting exercises, including annual and 5-year budget exercises and medium-term expenditure estimates. Funding Proposal Oversight: Evaluate funding proposals and work closely with divisions to ensure compliance with MCCY’s and WOG governance standards. Financial and Management Reporting: Analyse and prepare management reports and ensure timely and accurate submissions of statutory returns. Financial Governance: Put in place robust internal controls and safeguards through review of relevant financial guidelines and policies. Other Competencies Preferably with at least 2-3 years of relevant finance/budgeting experience Familiarity with public sector finance will be an advantage Ability to work independently Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks where necessary Ability to proactively develop and manage relationships with various key stakeholders Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills Tertiary qualifications in Accountancy / Business / Finance / related disciplinesAppointment will be commensurate with your experience.
