Job Description

We’re opening a brand-new Mitre 10 MEGA in Prestons, Christchurch, and we’re looking for an experienced Retail Manager to lead our Retail departments and drive service excellence. This is a key leadership role focused on empowering our team, maximising sales, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. This a 42. 5 hours per week position and will include a permanent weekend rostered shift. What you’ll be doing: Lead the day-to-day operations of our retail departmentsDrive customer service excellence and ensure a seamless shopping experience. Collaborate with the General Manager and peers to achieve store goals and profitability.

Manage stock, merchandising, promotions, and retail service delivery. Support recruitment, rostering, and performance management in your zone. Actively participate in Duty Management and key holding responsibilities. Coach and develop your team to deliver epic customer experiences. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, store policies, and legislative requirements. Maintain high merchandise presentation standards and operational efficiency. What you’ll bring: Proven leadership experience in a retail environment. Ability to coach, motivate, and empower teams. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities. Understanding of relevant legislation (e. g. , Fair Trading Act, Consumer Guarantees Act). IT competency and familiarity with retail systems.
