🌟 Join Our Team as a Modern Apprentice in Hospitality Services 🌟NHS Lanarkshire is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for Modern Apprenticeships in Hospitality at University Hospital Monklands.Annex 21 - As a trainee your pay is determined as a percentage of pay for qualified staff, in accordance with Annex 21 of the Agenda for Change terms and conditions so you will be paid 70% of the salary in year 1. Your salary will be reviewed annually in accordance with the Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions, ensuring fair and structured progression throughout your apprenticeship.If successful, you will be appointed on a salary aligned with the Scottish National Living Wage.Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will transition to the appropriate salary scale for the role, reflecting your new qualifications and responsibilities.Key DetailsLocation: University Hospital MonklandsDuration: Fixed term post for 2 years starting from the 20th of January 2026 for 30 hours each week.Must have National 5 (or equivalent) qualifications. More information can be found in the job pack attached to this advert.What We OfferTraining: Gain invaluable on-the-job training to develop a diverse range of Maintenance skills. Qualification: In year 1 you will work towards achieving a Hospitality Team Member (SCQF level 5), with City of Glasgow College, leading to a nationally recognised qualification. Then in Year 2, you will work towards Hospitality Supervision & Leadership (SCQF Level 7) with City of Glasgow College, leading to a nationally recognised qualification. More information can be found in the job pack.Support: You will be well supported on this Modern Apprenticeship Programme with a dedicated workplace buddy, a Job Coach from the in-house Employability Team and regular networking sessions with other apprentices. What We're Looking ForMotivated Individuals: Highly motivated and committed individuals eager to join our Modern Apprenticeship Programme. Skills: Strong communication, ability to prioritise tasks and work in a fast-paced hands-on environment. IT skills would be an advantage, along with the ability to understand various procedures and processes and follow health and safety guidelines.Interest: A particular interest in maintenance roles, coupled with a positive attitude towards work and professional development. Duties as a Hospitality Services Modern Apprentice, you will rotate across Domestic, Catering, Portering and Security, may include: Support the delivery of high-quality domestic services in line with HAI standardsAssist in preparing and serving food and beverages in accordance with food hygiene legislation and NHSL policies.Help with the safe and efficient movement of patients, goods and equipment.Assist in ensuring the building is secure and support staff, visitors and patients to deliver a ‘safe’ environment.Support site operations including car park control, ensuring safe use of facilities.Develop skills to operate the Switchboard responding in line with Standard Operating Procedures to Fire Activations, Major Incidents, On Call.
