Work Type: Permanent | On-SiteLocation: Germany – LeverkusenExperience: 2–5 YearsCompensation: EUR €90,000 – €94,000 per annumJob OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Project Engineer specializing in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) for a key role within the chemical manufacturing industry. The position involves independently managing multiple E&I investment projects at our Leverkusen site from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will be experienced in CapEx project planning, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration, while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead E&I projects safely and independently from planning through executionDevelop investment requests, technical specifications, and project documentationManage project coordination across basic and detailed engineering phasesEnsure timely delivery of projects with accurate cost estimates and schedulesImplement structured risk management and quality control (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 50001)Collaborate with procurement on contract development and vendor managementAssist in complex or large-scale E&I projects as a key technical contributorCoordinate regulatory approvals and technical documentationReport project progress, budgets, and ensure compliance with all EHS standardsMust-Have SkillsBachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or Automation Technology2–5 years of experience in CapEx project execution within the chemical industryProficiency in MS Office tools including MS ProjectStrong analytical and structured approach to problem solvingExcellent communication skills and ability to work independentlyBusiness-fluent German (spoken & written); good English skillsKnowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / ISO 50001 compliance requirementsNice-to-Have SkillsIntercultural competence and experience in global project teamsFamiliarity with cause-and-effect matrices, step chains, and automation control systemsExperience in procurement coordination and contract negotiationPrior exposure to safety-first project environments
