The selected candidate will be fully briefed on the company and leadership team during the initial screening.The Role: Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)We are seeking a seasoned and proactive MLRO to own and lead our financial crime compliance framework in Bermuda. This is a key leadership position with direct responsibility for ensuring our operations adhere to all local and international AML/CFT regulations, safeguarding the company against financial crime risks.Key Responsibilities:MLRO Leadership: Act as the designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the Bermuda entity, serving as the primary point of contact for the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) and other relevant regulatory bodies on all AML/CFT matters.Compliance Framework: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust, risk-based AML/CFT and sanctions compliance programme, including policies, procedures, and controls tailored to the digital asset industry.Risk Management: Conduct regular enterprise-wide risk assessments to identify, assess, and mitigate money laundering and terrorist financing risks. Oversee the ongoing monitoring of business relationships and transactions.Reporting & Oversight: Manage the suspicious activity reporting (SAR) process. Prepare and present regular reports on the compliance programme's effectiveness to Senior Management and the Board.Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company in engagements with regulators, law enforcement, and industry bodies (e.g., Bermuda Gaming Commission, National Anti-Money Laundering Committee).Training & Culture: Design and deliver comprehensive AML/CFT training programmes to employees at all levels, fostering a strong culture of compliance.Advisory: Provide expert advice to the business on the ML/FT risks associated with new products, services, and strategic initiatives.Who You Are 8+ years of experience in a senior compliance role with a focus on AML/CFT and sanctions, preferably within financial services, gaming, or digital assets.Direct experience acting as a designated MLRO or Deputy MLRO for a regulated entity, with proven experience liaising with a financial regulator (e.g., BMA, FCA, FINTRAC).Deep understanding of Bermuda's AML/CFT regulatory landscape and international standards (FATF recommendations).
