MongoDB Database Administrator

A leading tech company is looking for a highly skilled and experienced DBA & Data Engineer to join its DBA team.This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on MongoDB infrastructure and applicative ownership (70%), combined with Data Engineering responsibilities (30%), including building and managing Airflow pipelines.The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the performance, reliability, scalability, and security of production database systems.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the focal point for all MongoDB-related matters (Atlas & on-prem, infrastructure & applicative).Maintain and support MongoDB (Atlas + on-prem) production environments.Manage and support Postgres and SQL Server infrastructure in the cloud (AWS) and on-prem.Monitor system health, performance, and database reliability.Minimize downtime and manage HA/DR strategies.Plan long-term scalability and architectural improvements.Implement patches, upgrades, and configuration changes.Advise software engineers on SQL queries and schema design.Build and maintain data pipelines (Airflow preferred, Astronomer advantage).Support extraction pipelines from MongoDB & SQL Server.Participate in an on-call rotation.Requirements4+ years of experience across data platforms(including 2+ years in DBA roles – MongoDB & relational, infra & applicative).Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB (Atlas + on-prem).Practical Data Engineering experience (Airflow preferred).At least 1 year of hands-on AWS experience.Experience managing Postgres & SQL Server infrastructure in cloud environments.Advanced T-SQL development skills.Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, security, and data integrity.Proficiency with Git and code management workflows.Strong problem-solving skills and algorithmic thinking.Fluent English (mandatory).Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.Nice to HaveRelational Application DBA background.Experience with GitHub, Liquibase, Redgate.Familiarity with dbatools, CI/CD tools, Coralogix.Experience with Astronomer (Airflow managed service).What’s OfferedAnnual discretionary performance bonusAnnual salary reviewHybrid work modelSemi-flexible working hoursKeren Hishtalmut contribution from day oneRecuperation payLunch allowance (800 ILS gross/month)Happy hours & company eventsCareer growth opportunitiesPersonalized learning & development programsBirthday leaveMarriage leaveService awards giftsVariety of employee perksHitechZone membershipPrivacy Note:As part of our commitment to data privacy and GDPR standards, all CVs and personal information will be handled confidentially and used solely for recruitment purposes.
