Job Description

Job Title: Senior financial controllerLocation: [Dublin ]Reporting to: Managing DirectorSalary: [DOE]Contract Type: Part time (2 days week)Job Purpose: To manage the day-to-day financial operations of the cleaning company, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, bank reconciliation, and monthly reporting and pricing of larger tenders. The Finance Officer ensures the company’s financial records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with relevant legislation. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process supplier invoices and payments in a timely manner. Issue accurate customer invoices based on cleaning schedules/contracts. Monitor debtor accounts and follow up on overdue payments.

Reconcile customer and supplier accounts monthly. Banking & Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations. Maintain accurate cash flow records and forecasts. Manage petty cash and company credit card expenses. Payroll & Staff Costs: Support payroll processing (liaising with payroll provider or internal payroll system). Ensure accurate timesheet submissions from site supervisors or team leads. Track and record holiday pay, sick leave, and other entitlements. Assist with processing pension, PRSI, and PAYE obligations. Reporting & Compliance: Prepare monthly financial reports for management (P&L, cash flow, aged debtors/creditors). Assist in preparation of VAT returns, annual accounts, and year-end audit.

Ensure compliance with Revenue (Ireland) regulations and company policies. Maintain digital and physical financial records in line with GDPR requirements. Budgeting & Procurement: Assist in preparing annual budgets and cost forecasts. Track actuals vs budgets and highlight variances. Help negotiate supplier contracts and assess cost-efficiency. Person Specification: Essential: 3+ years’ experience in a finance/accounting role. Strong knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation, and VAT. Proficiency in accounting software (e. g. , Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. Desirable:

Experience working in a cleaning, facilities, or service-based company. Familiarity with payroll systems and Irish employment tax regulations. Qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Business (e. g. , IATI, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA). Experience with job costing or allocating costs per client/site.
