Payroll Coordinator North York Hybrid MPA are retained by a leader in Cardiology & Diagnostic Services to recruit for a Payroll Coordinator to join their team in North York on a hybrid basis. The client is part of a large group and is one of the largest diagnostic services firms with clinics nationwide across Canada. In this role, you will carry out tasks related to the preparation and processing of payroll data, including setting up, validating, and recording timesheets and associated payroll details. Reviews computer-generated reports, prepares reconciliations and journal entries, and maintains accurate records and files.
Logs information and compiles reports. Responsibilities: Manage full-cycle biweekly payroll processing for approximately 300 unionized and non-unionized salaried and hourly employees. Provide payroll-related support to both managers and employees. Prepare and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) for departing employees. Extract, analyze, and interpret payroll data as needed. Deliver accurate, complete, and timely payroll reports to internal stakeholders. Calculate termination payouts and manual payroll adjustments, including remittances for source deductions, garnishments, WSIB, EHT, and other statutory obligations. Conduct year-end reconciliation and submit required filings for source deductions, WSIB, EHT, etc.
Respond to inquiries from government agencies in a timely and professional manner. Collaborate closely with HR to ensure proper setup and maintenance of employee records and changes. Prepare payroll allocations, financial reports, and related journal entries for payroll and daily operations. Handle monthly accruals and reconcile bank statements as required. Support the accounting team with various period-end tasks and reporting requirements. Requirements: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in full-cycle payroll processing. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline. Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is considered an asset.
Solid understanding of Canadian employment standards, payroll regulations, and basic accounting principles. Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
