Second Shift Lead – Wire Cutting & Assembly American Cable & HarnessFort Atkinson, WIThe Second Shift Lead – Wire Cutting & Assembly is responsible for operating wire cutting equipment and assembling wire harnesses to specification, while also providing leadership and oversight for the team during assigned shifts. This role includes ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are met, supporting training efforts, and owning shift end responsibilities such as documentation and facility security. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Proficiently operate wire cutting, stripping, crimping equipment, and hand tools with a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and adherence to job specifications.
Cut and assemble wires and harnesses in accordance with schematics, technical diagrams, and detailed work orders. Lead and guide second shift team members, ensuring production goals and quality standards are met. Monitor workflow and help assign tasks to ensure efficient use of time and resources. Perform in-process and final inspections on assembled products. Train new or less experienced employees on proper techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use. Ensure all tools and equipment are used and maintained correctly. Communicate any production issues or material shortages to leadership promptly. Complete shift-end duties, including documentation and facility lock-up.
Promote and uphold company safety policies, 5S standards, and continuous improvement efforts. Maintain accurate records of production, scrap, and rework when applicable. Other duties or tasks as requested. Job RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED. Must be able to accurately use measuring tools and do basic math. Must be able to effectively use all tools required for wire harness assembly. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. Hours: Monday – Thursday 11: 30am to 9: 00pm, Friday 1: 00pm to 5: 00pmPay: $18. 00 to $20. 50 plus a $1. 00 shift premium and $1.
