Join ISZL as our next MS MYP Science TeacherAt the International School of Zug and Luzern (ISZL), we’re not just another international school. We’re a vibrant, curious, and courageous learning community where over 1,200 students from over 65 nationalities come together to explore, create, and grow.We’re searching for a MS MYP Science Teacher who will be responsible for fostering a passion for their subject area(s) among students throughout the Middle School and for working collaboratively with colleagues to develop engaging and inspirational learning experiences. The MS MYP Science Teacher is able to teach across Grades 6 to 8, working with students with a diverse range of talents and abilities, with each subject area having its own nuances, needs and responsibilities. Alongside strong pedagogical and subject knowledge and understanding, all Middle School teachers are deeply involved in supporting students beyond the subject areas, supporting social, emotional and academic learning as part of a grade level team. All Middle School teachers participate in our holistic approach to student well-being through Homeroom, PSHE and Community Engagement. All of our Middle School educators are expected to support the after-school program and personal development week.This is a full-time position and will start in August 2026.At ISZL, all members of staff are expected to meet our professional standards. Teachers at ISZL design, facilitate, assess, and empower learning based on the ISZL learning principles according to the following teaching standards and programme-specific documentation.Designing LearningPlan for purposeful, conceptual, inquiry-driven learning that meets the needs of all learners (Inclusion policy) and aligns with the ISZL curriculumCollaborate with colleagues within and across departments and divisions to ensure alignmentUse ISZL digital platforms to collate and share planning documentationUtilise all forms of assessment to adjust plans and improve learning in a timely wayPersonalise and differentiate learning experiences that foster independent learningFacilitating LearningCultivate an environment where students feel safe to contribute and ask questions of the teacher, of each other, and of themselvesDevelop student collaboration skills using a variety of appropriate structuresIntegrate technology in an appropriate and meaningful way to extend student thinking. Learning experiences should be contextualized and offer internationally-minded approaches, fostering intercultural competenceManage the learning environment in a manner that supports the learning of all students. Assessing LearningAssess student progress in a timely way, aligned with established ISZL and IB objectives. Select appropriate formative and summative assessment methods for all learnersUse ISZL digital platforms to document and communicate the rationale, criteria and outcomes of assessment with teachers, students and parentsEmpowering LearningIntegrate the range of identities of the students by providing opportunities for them to contextualise their own learning and learning about the identities of othersPromote student agency in co-designing learning and assessmentEmpower students to understand their learning profile and take ownership of their learning journeyWhat we’re looking forInternationally recognised teaching qualificationMinimum of two years of teaching experience.
