Directorate: EstatesResponsible to: Workshop SupervisorLocation: On Campus at Lord Wandsworth College and St Neot’s Prep SchoolContract: Full time, 52 weeksSalary: Up to £29,400 per annum (depending on experience)Role outline and purposeTo provide high-quality, responsive maintenance support across the Lord Wandsworth Group’s estates. Working as part of a small team, the postholder will carry out a range of day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance, and minor project works to ensure buildings, classrooms, and facilities remain safe, compliant, and well-presented for pupils, staff, and visitors.Role ResponsibilitiesCarry out general maintenance, repair, and improvement works across the estate (e.g. carpentry, basic plumbing, painting & decorating, minor electrical tasks within competence).Undertake building fabric works including cleaning gutters, repairing drains, replacing tiles, patching plasterwork, and minor roof repairs.Support the upkeep of external areas, including basic grounds-related maintenance where required.Respond to helpdesk requests and reactive jobs promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and boarding activities.Support planned preventative maintenance tasks as directed.Undertake small project and refurbishment works, either independently or as part of a team.Ensure that all work is carried out safely, in line with College health & safety policies and statutory regulations.Assist with routine statutory checks and compliance tasks (e.g. emergency lighting, fire alarms, water flushing, ladder checks).
