Job Description

Location: Remote, anywhere in JapanAs a Multilingual Medical Information Specialist (MMIS), you’ll join ProPharma’s Medical Information Contact Center, working at the crossroads of healthcare, science, and communication. In this role, you’ll be supporting patients, healthcare professionals, and our pharmaceutical clients by providing accurate, timely, and compliant medical information. You’ll also contribute to safety reporting and translation work that connects global medical knowledge across languages.What You’ll DoBe the trusted point of contact for medical and safety inquiries from consumers and healthcare professionals, handling requests by phone, email, letter, fax, or at scientific meetings.Provide clear, accurate medical and safety information (both labeled and unlabeled), always aligned with regulations, industry standards, and client/ProPharma policies.Identify, document, and report adverse events, pregnancies, special situations, and product complaints in compliance with regulations, SOPs, and client practices.Translate documents between English and Japanese, delivering polished written and verbal responses.Use approved sources (labeling, standard responses, scientific literature) to craft accurate answers and develop custom responses when needed.Record all inquiries promptly and completely in the Inquiry Handling System.Quality and ComplianceEnsure accuracy and consistency across safety reports, translations, and logged inquiries.Perform translation quality checks in line with ProPharma’s standards.General ResponsibilitiesParticipate in after-hours coverage on rotation, as needed.Handle confidential and personal data responsibly, following privacy regulations and company policies.Follow ProPharma’s health and safety policies.Support other tasks assigned by your Manager.What You BringLicensed Registered Nurse in Japan.Native Japanese speaker.Fluent English with strong translation ability.Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and regulatory standards.Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English: professional writing, translation, phone etiquette, and empathetic customer service.Ability to craft grammatically correct, fluent Japanese text.Critical thinking, analysis, and strong reasoning skills.Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay detail-oriented under pressure.Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-oriented mindset.Team player who values feedback and accountability.Confident with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems, with the ability to pick up new tools quickly.
