Come Take Flight at KSU!Location(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.Department InformationDepartment Specific Tasks And ResponsibilitiesCoordinate traveling exhibit program (communicate with host sites, deliver and set-up exhibits and supporting materials, gather assessment data).Assist with layout, design, fabrication, and installation of exhibits on and off campus, including building exhibit cases, interactives, and related structures .Offer facility and event support on Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.Job SummaryConceptualizes, coordinates and creates visual solutions for the Department of Museums, Archives & Rare Books. Oversees design concepts for exhibitions, interactives, websites and/or related collateral materials and manage and coordinate complex exhibition projects and programs. Works closely and collaboratively with museum staff and third parties such as artists, lenders, co-organizers, and vendors.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Conceptualize, coordinate, and create graphic design solutions for exhibitions, signage, collateral material in consultation with MARB units and/or develop schematics and floor plans for exhibitions that might include the creation of additional walls/spaces, color, lighting, and innovative integration of interpretive elements, including interactives and technology.Manage and coordinate, in partnership with exhibit teams, complex exhibition and related design projects and programs from conceptualization to implementation, including developing schedules for design, production, and installation.Design and/or build exhibit elements, including cases, mounts, and interactives.Coordinate and train students, staff, and volunteers engaged in artifact handling, exhibit installation, and exhibit support.Contribute to design workshops, in partnership with project managers, with internal and external constituents.Working with exhibit teams and strategic communications to develop branding solutions.Contribute to grant and award applications related to exhibit design and document each installation and special exhibition.Required QualificationsEducational RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.Required ExperienceFour (4) years of experience as an Exhibit Designer or closely related profession.Preferred QualificationsPreferred Educational QualificationsAdvanced degree from an accredited institution in related field.Preferred ExperienceExperience with exhibit design technology and current standards in exhibition design.Proposed SalaryThe budgeted salary range for this role is $55,000 to $64,500 annually.
