Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www. mutares. com), acquires medium-sized companies and parts of groups with headquarter in Europe that are being sold in the course of a repositioning process at their owners and show a clear potential for operational improvement. Mutares actively supports and develops its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams as well as through acquisitions of strategic add-ons. Our goal is to acquire companies with a turnover of EUR 100 to 750 million. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

Within our OPS team, we are looking to hire a leader who has a successful track record in Purchasing with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on site across Europe.

Your TasksResponsible for all procurement activities and their corresponding strategic and operational development within the portfolio companyLead the assigned portfolio team technically and disciplinarily according to clearly defined goalsConduct price and value analysis and make or buy decisionsIdentify improvement opportunities across all external spend, map and improve the internal purchasing processes and implement the improvement measures to generate tangible benefits to the company’s overall financial situationWork closely with the Mutares Purchasing team to leverage any synergies across the wider portfolioYour ProfileAt least 10 years of experience in leading procurement improvement programs for manufacturing companiesThe ideal candidate should have working experience in both industry and management consultingAn exemplary academic backgroundEntrepreneurially oriented leadership and a success-oriented, dynamic working methodKnowledge of end-to-end purchasing processSkillful negotiator and knowledge of contract managementDemonstrated ability to work in complex environments, both independently and as part of a teamStrong analytical skills and problem-solving abilityStrong communication skills (at all levels)Proficiency in the use of Excel and PowerPointFluent English and one other European languageWillingness to travel 4 days per weekWhat Mutares offersWorking as part of a highly motivated, international, committed and agile team that enjoys working togetherExciting working environment with changing challenges and tasks for a continuous personal and professional developmentAttractive remuneration combined with flexible working hoursIntensive on-boarding phase in a collegial environmentRegular team events and offsites
