Position OverviewThe Country Manager will lead Nabati Food’s operations in Kenya, driving market expansion, brand growth, and sales performance across the region. This role is responsible for developing and executing market entry strategies, building strong distributor and retail networks, and ensuring Nabati’s products achieve high visibility and market share in Kenya’s competitive FMCG landscape. Key Responsibilities1. Market Expansion & StrategyDevelop and implement business strategies to establish and grow Nabati’s presence in Kenya. Identify market opportunities, distribution channels, and retail partners to maximize sales.
Adapt global and regional strategies to suit local market trends, consumer behavior, and regulations. 2. Sales & Distribution ManagementManage and oversee relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and modern trade retailers. Negotiate distribution agreements and monitor performance to achieve sales targets. Ensure product availability, visibility, and competitive pricing in all key channels. 3. Marketing & Brand DevelopmentWork closely with the marketing team to design and execute localized promotional campaigns. Monitor competitor activities and develop initiatives to strengthen Nabati’s brand positioning. Drive in-store activities, sampling programs, and digital marketing efforts tailored for Kenyan consumers. 4.
Financial & Operational OversightManage P&L for Kenya operations, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency. Prepare annual budgets, sales forecasts, and performance reports. Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and food safety requirements. 5. Team LeadershipRecruit, train, and manage a local team to support sales, marketing, and distribution activities. Foster a high-performance culture with strong accountability and collaboration. Provide leadership and motivation to drive results. Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). Minimum 10 years of senior-level experience in FMCG, preferably in snacks/confectionery.
Proven track record in launching or growing a food brand in Kenya or East Africa. Strong network within Kenya’s modern trade, traditional trade, and distribution channels. Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills. Deep understanding of local market trends, consumer preferences, and retail dynamics. Key CompetenciesStrategic market development skills.
