About The RoleWe are seeking a Planning & Environmental Approvals Advisor located in our Melbourne CBD office to play a vital role in advancing National Intermodal’s terminal portfolio, focusing on Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of internal and external professionals, including environmental, urban planning, design, commercial, and legal experts, to ensure project delivery aligns with innovative environmental standards and industry best practices.
What you’ll be doingCoordinating and review approvals documentation, impact assessments, technical studies, and design drawings to ensure seamless planning and environmental approvals, meeting project deadlines and upholding National Intermodal’s environmental standards. Providing strategic input on staging planning approvals at federal, state, and local levels to optimize time, budget, and stakeholder engagement outcomes. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver environmental and planning advice, supporting progress in costing, design, and other project areas. Contributing to reporting processes to track approvals progress, compliance, and project milestones.
Driving innovative planning and environmental solutions to enhance project outcomes and promote best practices for improved delivery efficiency and sustainability. Partnering with specialist contractors to ensure quality assurance and achieve project delivery milestones. Supporting stakeholder engagement strategies by working with communication professionals to engage government agencies, local councils, community groups, and business partners. About YouBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Science or Town/Urban Planning. Minimum 12 months’ experience in a similar role with proven delivery experience in securing approvals for major infrastructure projects.
Sound knowledge of state planning systems and environmental impact assessment requirements in Victoria, New South Wales, or Queensland. Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to influence and build lasting relationships. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
