The key function and purpose of the Fixed - Term Assistant Accountant role is to ensure the transparent and accurate processing of financial information which is reliable and maintained in a professional manner. This role will be for a fixed term period.
Job DescriptionThe key function and purpose of this role is toReconcile agency costs against agency revenueExtract and analyse PL for any principal related charges postedReconcile principal related charges and ensure correct rechargingLiaise with departments to ensure correct postings are doneReconcile intercompany balancesTrain the users on how to do correct postings and splitting of cost against principalsPerform GL reconciliationsGenerate agency related invoicesFlexibility to attend to finance related issues outside of normal working hoursAssist Manager Finance evaluate the finance policies and processes and develop internal controls. Any other work assigned by the Finance Manager.
QualificationsEducationAt a minimum, a Diploma / Degree in Accounting and FinanceExperienceAt least 5 years experience in a similar roleSkillsGood knowledge of technical accounting and statutory obligationsExcellent knowledge and skills in Microsoft OfficeExperience in the shipping industry is preferred with the ability to read airline/shipping documentation including BOL, invoice. Good analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to identify and suggest areas for internal control improvementsSelf-motivated and capable of handling multiple tasksAbility to work either independently or collaboratively as neededBe a team playerGood communication skillsAdditional InformationCompetitive benefits package (salary plus bonus).
