NES Fircroft have been retained to appoint a Mine Operations Director for a new diamond mine in Angola. This project has demonstrated significant profitability during pilot trials, and is moving into Phase One of operation. The Mine Operations Director will report to the Managing Director, and spearhead the development of the mining operation. This role will have total operational responsibility across production, geology, maintenance, technical services, logistics, HSE, and on-site security. Support functions (legal, HR, finance, procurement, security coordination) will be provided centrally. We are looking for people with:
A degree in Mining Engineering10 years' experience in mining, with 5+ years in site leadershipOperational alluvial diamond mining experienceStrong operational and technical capabilities in remote/complex field environmentsProven ability to drive production safely under challenging conditionsEnglish language (Portuguese is an advantage, but not mandatory)On offer is a competitive expat package. This position is based in Lunda Norta Province, Angola and will operate on a rotational basis.
