Expert Engineer - IT Systems (Network & Security)Location: Amsterdam - Full-time, 6-month contract (possible extension)€70 per hourAre you passionate about building secure, high-performance network environments? Do you thrive in fast-paced global enterprises where automation, cloud adoption, and continuous improvement are the norm?We are seeking a Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of global enterprise infrastructure for a leading tech business.What You’ll DoAs a senior technical leader, you will:Network Operations & SecurityLead incident resolution, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.Maintain strong security posture through patching, compliance checks, and proactive monitoring.Architecture & DesignArchitect scalable network solutions across data centres and offices.Manage WAN, LAN, wireless technologies, and secure connectivity.Cloud & AutomationIntegrate network services with Azure and AWS environments.Build and enhance automation using Terraform, Python, GitHub Actions, and other DevOps tools.Performance & Continuous ImprovementDrive capacity planning and ensure optimal network performance.Improve operational efficiency through better processes and documentation.Collaboration & LeadershipPartner across global teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions.Mentor junior engineers and participate in global on-call rotation.What You’ll Bring5+ years of network engineering & network security experienceStrong enterprise networking skills:Cisco wireless, routing & switching, ISEPalo Alto firewalls and security technologiesWorking knowledge of cloud networking (AWS/Azure)Track record delivering large-scale infrastructure projectsConfident communicator with strong problem-solving skillsExperience leading initiatives and influencing stakeholdersJoin a key role in shaping a future-ready global network - modern, secure, automated, and resilient.
